Hike for Tykes, October 1- Nov. 12 -- 10 am, Dinius Park Pavilion, Auburn: Oct. 1, Oct. 15, Oct. 29, Nov. 12,  

Was that a fairy?! What’s in the dirt or under that rock? What's happening to the leaves? Fresh Air Family naturalists lead preschool children and their families on a discovery hike looking for critters and creepy crawlies just beneath the soil, celebrating fall with leaf crafts, or setting up winter fairy homes! Amongst the fall leaves at Dinius we will hunt roly polies, slimy salamanders, and worms galore! Free for members, $5 dollars per family non-members. Minimum 3 families Maximum 15 families. 

Ages(s) 4 - 7 for Tykes with their families.  Time 10AM - 11AM ; Location is TBA in Auburn

October 1, 10 am, It's Gold Out There! Shoal Creek Park, Montevallo

See the bright yellows and deep purples of fall blooms in the fields at Shoal Creek. We will walk the trails, crisscross the creek on wooden bridges, and perhaps get our feet wet on a warm day. Join Fresh Air Family botanist, Verna Gates, to see autumn break into color. Free for members, $15 donation per family non-members.

October 15, 7 am- 6 pm, BioBlitz, Dinius Park,  Auburn

It's a celebration of biodiversity! Bring your family and friends (especially the nature lovers) to Dinius Park and team up with local scientists and naturalists for a community science event! From dawn-to-dusk, you will be on an extreme nature scavenger hunt finding and identifying as many species as possible. This is a great way for children (and adults) to learn first-hand about nature, how we can study it, and how we can protect it. Auburn University Museum of Natural History, the Alabama Natural Heritage Program, and Fresh Air Family are partnering together for a community exploration of Auburn biodiversity! Suggested donation $8 per family or $4 per individual.
